چکیده

With the arrival of Java 2 Micro Edition (J2ME) and its industry support 1, 2, we can now create applications that run on commonplace pervasive computing devices, such as mobile phones or PDAs. Several research groups are working on platforms for building intelligent agent applications for this environment 3, such as MicroFIPA 4, the Lightweight Extensible Agent Platform (LEAP) 5, and our AgentLight platform 6.

A semantic-aware role-based access control model for pervasive computing environments

Access control in open and dynamic Pervasive Computing Environments (PCEs) is a very complex mechanism and encompasses various new requirements. In fact, in such environments, context information should be used in access control decision process; however, it is not applicable to gather all context information completely and accurately all the time. Thus, a suitable access control model for PCEs...

A context-sensitive dynamic role-based access control model for pervasive computing environments

Resources and services are accessible in pervasive computing environments from anywhere and at any time. Also, due to ever-changing nature of such environments, the identity of users is unknown. However, users must be able to access the required resources based on their contexts. These and other similar complexities necessitate dynamic and context-aware access control models for such environmen...

Autonomic Pervasive Computing: A Smart Mall Scenario Using Promise Theory

We present a simplified example of a pervasive computing scenario using promises to model the interaction policies between the agents. We examine how the autonomic nodes stabilize into a robust functional system in spite of their autonomous decision making. We use promises both as a means of modelling a potential specification and as a complementary eye glass for interpreting and understanding ...

Agents, Mobility, and M-services: Creating the Next Generation Applications and Infrastructure on Mobile Ad-Hoc Networks

With the advent of third generation wireless infrastructure, and the simultaneous emergence of pervasive connectivity for all devices based on Bluetooth like systems for ad-hoc networks, a new vista is open for research in the area of mobile systems. We describe here our ideas for realizing pervasive computing systems based on the cooperation of autonomous, dynamic and adaptive components (hard...

A Framework for Supporting Autonomous Agents in Ubiquitous Computing Environments

Handheld computers allow user mobility in pervasive environments and give users access to computing resources regardless of their location. These devices however, often operate disconnected from the network thus reducing the opportunities for spontaneous interoperation with other users or devices. Autonomous agents can enable spontaneous interaction by representing users, as well as services. T...
